I am so touched at all the encouragement and support and sheer goodwill beaming at me from my blogging community right now – thank you! We have come on a journey together, each of us sitting at home (or in a coffee shop) but putting ourselves out there, finding common interests or kindred spirits or both, pushing forwards, falling back but always trying to find the sweet spot of honesty without blurting, kindness without gushing, and at the bottom of it all: discernment. Where I come from ‘touched’ has a second meaning, one with an edge. There has been such a whirl recently that at one point I sat down to address envelopes – I enjoy doing this by hand, with a fountain pen and my own affectation, sepia ink – and I couldn’t remember how to write. A pot of tea, Walt Whitman and a darkened room later I was more collected, but is certainly a reminder to do more yoga.
We have been sorting and scanning our photos recently and Stefan sent me this gem: I had finished my finals, we had been dating for a week and that afternoon I left Sydney for America – we are in my parent’s garden and the blue Pacific behind us is the same that I now sit beside a world away. Somehow it confirms that life moves so fast ~
